September update and 2010 list resent

Overwhelming thumbs up for  Sarah’s Key by Tatiana De Rosnay!!!!

General comments:

·         Very sad

·         Eye opening

·         Similar to Diary of Anne Frank

·         Makes you think a lot

·         Glad read for importance

·         Disappointed that started as strong historical fiction and fizzled out…

·         Discussed topics such as:  “the French Roundups,” the Holocaust survivors

·         Jews being targeted due to wealth and prestige

GREAT discussion, everyone!

This is a place of mystery...a sanctuary. Every book, every volume you see here has a soul. The soul of the person who wrote it and of those who read it and lived and dreamed with it. Every time a book changes hands, every time someone runs his eyes down its pages, its spirit grows and strengthens.

Good morning, everyone!

I attached a document that includes some ideas for reads that we own here at the library.  Let me know if you want any of them.  I can send them via campus mail for those of you who work at NDSCS, I can bring them to the next book group, or you can stop by and visit me anytime.  Have a great day!

P.S.  Does anyone know who is next after Gloria?  I saw her email to all of us and I don’t know the answer.  J
