Change of Heart book available

FYI – Change of Heart is sitting on Shelly’s desk (by Tina’s desk in the backroom).  If you would like to take it, please tell Shelly your name so she can track it.  You could also inform the group so no one else stops by and gets disappointed.  :0)

Call her if you like 671-2620.

Ok, I’m signing off.

This is a place of mystery...a sanctuary. Every book, every volume you see here has a soul. The soul of the person who wrote it and of those who read it and lived and dreamed with it. Every time a book changes hands, every time someone runs his eyes down its pages, its spirit grows and strengthens.

December Recap/ January & February Reads

Happy Friday, everyone!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed our December book exchange – thanks to all you wonderful ladies!  The conversations were bustling with intellectual thought while everyone enjoyed the gift exchange, good food, and most importantly great company.  For those of you who couldn’t make it, you were in our thoughts.  As for 2011,  Jeanette’s choice for January is Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult.  We have the audio and the book just came in yesterday; so, let me know if you want to be on the list for either.  The book is available today and Maggie has the audio.  :0)

January Book Group Meeting

Day:  January 19th, 2010

Time:  5-7 pm

Place:  Prante’s

Change of Heart

February Selection idea?

Maggie shared rave reviews on Cutting for Stone by  Abraham Verghese so we thought we could select it for February since no one is assigned there.  Unless I hear vehement disagreement it is a go.  We will place the order for the book for the library also.  So the itinerary for February is:

Day:  February 16th, 2010

Time:  5-7 pm

Place:  Prante’s

Cutting for Stone [Book]

Feel free to reply to all with questions and concerns,  as for me I am off now for the next two weeks, so Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!!!

I would propose for the Spring:

Took these off Audible.com’s best of the year selections:

Room  Kathleen Grisson  - sounds like a style we’ve never “read” before . . .

The Kitchen House  Donoghue

RE: December Book Group Exchange

Latest tally:

Yes – Gloria, Loretta, Tina, Maggie, Kathy & Alice.

No – Heather & Shirley.

Just a side note to share with all of you,

Shirley wanted to share that she would love to attend, but very sadly her Mother-in-Law is very ill and in the last stages.  To you Shirley, we send our kindest, warmest thoughts.  You and yours will be in our thoughts.   Take care.

Just a quick note: the vote option is in the upper left corner and you
select yes or no and respond. If that doesn't work you are more than
welcome to just reply with your answer. :0)
