May 2012 selection

Good afternoon, ladies!

 

As of this point we still do not have “The Other Side of Suffering” by John Ramsey from ILL or purchased.  So….we will move Judy’s book to June.

 

For May you have a CHOICE:

 

You can read Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins.  Catching Fire is the continuation to The Hunger Games.  Some have already read it which puts us at an advantage.  I read it over the weekend – things that make you go hmmmm.  ;0)  For those of you who have read Catching Fire we have “Mocking Jay” by Suzanne Collins available in book format.

 

Or

 

If you do not want to read the continuation to The Hunger Games, being it is “SALSA” you can pick any title you wish for May.  Again…Jeanette’s choice moves to June (which is our typical SALSA month).

 

Also, reminder…starting in May we will meet on Tuesday instead of Wednesday.  Based on the survey conducted earlier this year, it appeared this was still the consensus.  If that has changed please let me know.  As of now plan on Tuesday night, from 5 to 7, at Niblick’s (a.k.a. the golf course bar).  Therefore, the May meeting will be Tuesday, May 15, 2012.

3 hours until discussion…can you feel the anticipation????

 

Please note the updates to the 2012 List.  Please note if your name is coming up.  Of course, Jeanette and Maggie are under a little more of a crunch than others. 

 

SALSA = read whatever you like and share with the group OR we can identify an author/genre, etc. – YOU PICK!

 

We do not own The Other Side of Suffering by John Ramsey and it is not available in Overdrive.  I placed a request for Ill in book and CD and plan on ordering the book for our library. 

 

In the meantime, if you have access to other sources please feel free to try.  If we have too much difficulty we will push Judy’s selection to June and do Salsa in May. 

 

Just a friendly reminder, the May meeting is at Niblicks!  Tonight is at Prantes.

April Meeting

Good morning, avid readers!

Due to the fact that we did not have an opportunity to discuss The Last Ember we will combine that discussion with The Hunger Games in April, which is this Wednesday already from 5 to 7 at Prantes!   ;0)

A reminder…starting in May we will meet on Tuesday instead of Wednesday.  Based on the survey conducted earlier this year, it appeared this was still the consensus.  If that has changed please let me know.  As of now plan on Tuesday night, from 5 to 7, at Niblicks (a.k.a. the golf course bar).  Therefore, the May meeting will be Tuesday, May 15, 2012.

In reviewing the Undercover VI Book Group Blog at  http://bookloversunite2day.blogspot.com/   for the 2011 & 2012 reads listed below it appears to me that the following people are left to select:  Carol Meehan, Heather Goroski, & Judy Peterson.  I randomly placed you three in the next three months.  Let me know if you prefer a different month or prefer not to select at this time.  Also, please, please let me know if I forgot accidently forgot anyone.  ;0)

I just realized that this summer will mark the 10th year anniversary of our group!!  I’m so excited & proud!
