May 2012 selection

Good afternoon, ladies!

 

As of this point we still do not have “The Other Side of Suffering” by John Ramsey from ILL or purchased.  So….we will move Judy’s book to June.

 

For May you have a CHOICE:

 

You can read Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins.  Catching Fire is the continuation to The Hunger Games.  Some have already read it which puts us at an advantage.  I read it over the weekend – things that make you go hmmmm.  ;0)  For those of you who have read Catching Fire we have “Mocking Jay” by Suzanne Collins available in book format.

 

Or

 

If you do not want to read the continuation to The Hunger Games, being it is “SALSA” you can pick any title you wish for May.  Again…Jeanette’s choice moves to June (which is our typical SALSA month).

 

Also, reminder…starting in May we will meet on Tuesday instead of Wednesday.  Based on the survey conducted earlier this year, it appeared this was still the consensus.  If that has changed please let me know.  As of now plan on Tuesday night, from 5 to 7, at Niblick’s (a.k.a. the golf course bar).  Therefore, the May meeting will be Tuesday, May 15, 2012.

• March- Jodi selected The Last Ember by Daniel Levin but wavered between Velva Jean Learns to Drive by Jennifer Niven (Jodi O.)
• February- Still Alice by Lisa Genova (Shirley)
• January- A Place to Stand: The Making of a Poet by Jimmy Santiago Baca (Cindy S.)
