RE: CORRECTION and UPDATED Recap for January discussion & February- July tentative information

At our last meeting, we discussed Change of Heart.  I was particularly impressed by the amount of research the author had included and was pleasantly surprised when she used a 2006 quote by Bono from his Remarks to the National Prayer Breakfast.  I have been so impressed by Bono’s writing (see his tribute to Sargent Shriver in the NY Times) that I have always kept a copy of the Prayer Breakfast speech close at hand.  Someone asked if I could send it to the group, so you can find it attached.  Hope you find it as moving as I did.

Good Morning, members!

Thanks to Cindy, one of our newest members, she caught a glitch of mine.  I need to make an immediate correction on the February read.  Not presently reading and having the pleasure of three new members I jumped a book one month ahead in the email.  The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is supposed to be after Maggie’s selection of Cutting for Stone.  Sorry.  Right now Jeanette has Cutting for Stone and then it goes to Judy Peterson.  Let me know if you want to get in the list.  If you started the March read you are just ahead of the game.  :0)  (positive thinking).  For the members (Kathy & Gloria) that I bumped back for the new members you will be right after them.  For members not attending…no worries…we can figure a plan when you can attend.  Thanks for the catch, Cindy – checking the Blog.  :0)  Love it!

Also, please RSVP for March now; you can let me know now and then if you change between now and then you can notify Shirley.  Shirley, can you let us know time closer to?  Thanks, everyone!

Welcome to a new member

Good morning, everyone!

I just wanted to share with you that we have a new member interested in attending.  Her name is Judy Peterson, a well-respected instructor, not to mention a delightful person all-around, here at NDSCS.  She saw our picture in the e-transmitter and inquired.  She will be an amazing addition to our group, so officially, but informally, WELCOME Judy Peterson!  Attend whenever you so desire!  Drop a line with any questions.  If anyone has or finishes their book early Judy is interested.

Have a great day, everyone!  Stay warm and happy reading!  :0)

Your friendly neighborhood librarian, Tina.

Per chance does anyone have The Help by Kathryn Stockett?  I have not looked through my notes yet I thought I would just ask.

This is a place of mystery...a sanctuary. Every book, every volume you see here has a soul. The soul of the person who wrote it and of those who read it and lived and dreamed with it. Every time a book changes hands, every time someone runs his eyes down its pages, its spirit grows and strengthens.
