2008 Overviews of Information, lots of information

Good Morning Fellow Readers!

Blog - I reinvited all of you to the blog.  Go ahead and try to set up an account.  Please be aware that I presently have all of your emails set to automatically post to the website.  If you want certain posts removed let me know.  If you want to have it private give me a call (671-2612).  I think we will all enjoy using the blog to communicate how we feel about books when we don't make it to the meeting.  The Blog has the 2008 reads listed.

January 16th Meeting - We did have a meeting last night with three of us - fun, fun.  A couple did not like The Dip at all, those of us last night thought it had valid points to walk away with and therefore recommended the read overall.

February 20th Meeting - We will be meeting next month at the Wilkin, Feb. 20th (unless we pick the River Valley Inn option) but not in the conference room, we are going to try meeting on the East side in front, so instead of going left when you walk in go right.  The book is Bel Canto: a novel by Ann Patchett - we have it at the library - let me know if you want on the list, another member has already started reading it.  I will try to send out an R.S.V.P. a week in advance but I will leave it on your shoulders to R.S.V.P. if I don't.  I want the establishments we use to feel respected.  I will also go to the restaurant if I have not been able to touch base with everyone, in general I will only stay for 15 minutes (5:15) to wait and see who comes unless they have notified they will be late in the R.S.V.P.  - I say this only so I don't miss you and have frustrated members.  As always attending members make present choices.  Everyone is always welcome, whether you read all or none of the book.

2008 Schedule
If anyone wants to get going on one of the reads in the future - let me know.  I will try to bring them to the February meeting.  Here is our tentative 2008 reads as of now:

River Valley Inn Restaurant

The River Valley Inn, a restaurant operated by students in the NDSCS Culinary Arts program, features a variety of menus during spring semester. The River Valley Inn is open 5-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Student Center Red River Valley Room.
Please call for a reservation beginning Tuesday afternoon the week prior restaurant date. Room is limited and reservations are needed for anyone planning to attend.
PLEASE DO NOT CALL FOR EARLY RESERVATIONS. In an effort to be fair to all involved we will open reservations up to the campus and public at the same time and day each week. Large groups (more than 8) will be accommodated when possible, but may not be seated in the same section.
Once a table has been reserved, our students then determine how to plan for guests both in the kitchen and in the dining room.

Reservations can be made by calling 701-671-2405 or stopping at the Student Center Customer Service Desk.

Take care - stay warm and cozy!!!

Tina.
